FAQ’s

How do you deal with nervous patients?

Some people can be very nervous about visiting the dentist. At 42 The Dental Practice, we go out of our way to help people overcome their nerves and to have a calm and positive experience at our surgery. It’s often a good idea to pop into the surgery before you book an appointment so that you can have a look around, meet the dentist and put yourself at ease with the surroundings. We also offer hypnotherapy to patients with more severe anxiety issues. If you are a nervous patient, please give us a call and we can have a chat about the best way to approach treatment in your particular case.

Do you treat children?

Yes we encourage children to attend as early as possible on a regular basis to help instil the principles of good dental health.

What happens if I have a dental emergency outside of surgery hours?

We operate a same day emergency system Monday to Friday. So if you call us in the morning with a problem, we will try to see you that same day. For registered patients there is also emergency cover at weekends.

How much do your services cost?

Initial consultations with a general dentist cost between £85 and £100. This includes cancer screening, checking of periodontal status (gums), treatment planning, oral hygiene assessment and instruction. When further treatment is needed we always give you an estimate in advance to avoid any nasty surprises. For initial consultations with one of our specialist’s fees vary between £100 and £200 Call us for more details.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept cash, cheques and all major credit cards. Please note we do not take American Express.

Will my dental insurance cover my treatment?

It depends on your dental plan and the treatment. If you plan to claim for treatment on your insurance, you should discuss this with your dentist before commencing any treatment. For any treatments requiring surgery: as a Consultant Oral Surgeon, Mr Dungarwalla is approved to see patients insured with all the major insurance companies nationally and internationally, few examples are BUPA, AXA PPP, AVIVA HEALTH, BUPA INTERNATIONAL and many more. If you are unsure, please ask.

Do you accept NHS patients?
